Organisation

 

The Mid Essex Teachers' Association is a local association of the National Union of Teachers.

It is organised locally by its Executive Committee and is affiliated to the Essex Division of the NUT.

The local Secretary is normally the first point of contact for Association members.

But many services to members are also provided by the NUT Regional Office.

 

Mid Essex Executive Committee


The Executive Committee of the Association undertakes its day to day running.

Elections to the Committee are held annually at the Annual General Meeting.

EssexNUT Division


All local NUT Associations in Essex belong to the Essex NUT Division.
This organises the union at the county level for the new Essex LEA, undertaking such tasks as liaison with the LEA and other teacher unions.

Members in Southend and Thurrock are now in separate Divisions.

Delegates from the Associations to the Divisional Council meet six times per year, plus the AGM.
